Riverbend Renovations is a residential remodeling company serving Central Connecticut, with deep roots in finish carpentry and a growing specialty in structural and detail-heavy work. 2019
Where It Started
Carson Manchester founded Riverbend Renovations in February 2019, starting with finish carpentry work in the Greater Hartford area. Growing up around a father who ran a small construction company, Carson developed an eye for detail and field instincts long before he started his own business. After years of working in sales, he began taking on carpentry jobs and, as he puts it, one thing came after another. Early projects centered on colonial home restorations, where precision and an understanding of period detail set the tone for the company's standards from the start.
2020 – 2022
Growing Into General Contracting
As Riverbend's reputation grew, so did the scope of work. The company formed partnerships with skilled tradespeople and began general contracting larger residential projects alongside its finish carpentry foundation. Lucas Thayer, a graduate of Vermont Woodworking School with a specialization in furniture building, joined as co-owner to lead field operations and the shop, bringing formal craft training that deepened the company's millwork and custom woodworking capabilities across bathroom remodeling, basement finishing, and full-home renovations.

Owner, Sales & Estimating
Carson founded Riverbend in 2019 and manages all new client relationships, estimates, and larger project oversight. He is typically the first person you talk to, and the person making sure the project lands the way it should.
Lucas Thayer
Owner, Operations & Shop Manager
A graduate of Vermont Woodworking School with a specialization in furniture building, Lucas leads the on-site crew and oversees all millwork, custom woodworking, and specialty carpentry. His background in fine woodworking shows up in the details that make a finished space look exactly right.
